Our Philosophy
We believe that learning should be joyful, engaging, and purposeful. Through play-based exploration, creative expression, and positive guidance, Kingston Academy encourages children to discover their potential and develop a lifelong love of learning. We value the individuality of each child and family, and we recognize that every child learns best when they feel secure, understood and respected.
Our Mission
To provide a stimulating and supportive learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore the world around them. We are committed to developing the whole child—academically, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically—laying a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Introduction
Our approach is grounded in Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP), following standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We respect each child’s pace of growth and the cultural traditions of their families, creating a classroom environment that reflects inclusion, warmth, and understanding. We believe in flexibility and in meeting each child where they are—emotionally, socially, and developmentally—while providing opportunities for every child to succeed.
Kingston Academy strives to maintain consistent, nurturing relationships between teachers and children. Especially for infants and toddlers, this consistency supports a sense of trust and belonging that allows each child to explore confidently. As children transition into new classrooms, these relationships and routines help them feel safe and supported through every stage of development.
Each family plays a vital role in our community. We value open communication and collaboration with parents, and we encourage the exchange of ideas, feedback, and cultural experiences that strengthen our shared mission of providing the highest quality early education and care.
